Our family is from Lahaul Valley (beyond Kullu Valley) and has lived here for about thirty years. In the old wing of Himalayan Woodpecker, our family house was built on a simple wooden and concrete concept. We have our very own farmland and apple orchards right in our backyard. One can wander around our hilly farms and gaze at the mountains. The experience of being in nature's lap, surrounded by lush greenery, apple orchards, butterflies, birds, and the sounds of the Beas River, is soul-satisfying. It is ideal if you are seeking solace and want to disconnect from the hustle and bustle of city life. You get a peaceful view of the entire valley of Manali from your window. a hilltop house in apple orchards with two dedicated guest rooms, one with a kitchenette and hygienic washroom and the other with a good-sized bedroom. The newly constructed, decorated, and impressive rooms have tile flooring. Both rooms are fully equipped and have all of the necessary amenities, as well as good furniture and lighting. It is an ideal place for peace seekers in the Himalayas, particularly for book lovers, meditation practitioners, and birders. Our desire is to provide a breathtaking, natural, and tranquil Himalayan lifestyle. We are also working on planting vegetables at our location so that our guests can enjoy farm-fresh vegetables.
It is a twenty-minute hike uphill through 300 steps from the parking area, gaining a decent amount of altitude. Don't worry, the trek is on well-built steps, but it can be exhausting for first-timers due to its high altitude. I believe you are fit enough, but trust me when I say the view you see after climbing the hill is breathtaking. Wearing good sport shoes or walking boots provides more comfort while walking up and down in the mountains.
When you stay with us, you will receive completely personalized service from a team that does it because it is who they are and because they love this house. This property has two aspects. While this is our home and we have private quarters here, we offer two types of accommodations for varying durations and purposes.

At Himalayan Woodpecker, we treat each guest as if they were a personal house guest. We take care of your needs, provide homemade breakfast and other meals on request, make personal recommendations, and introduce you to local events and people. Some of our B&B guests have become lifelong friends over the years. We also know how to keep our distance if you require privacy and are looking for solitude. We wanted to create a beautiful space where like-minded people could stay in one place while maintaining their privacy, share common resources, and meet to exchange thoughts and ideas to enrich our lives. In some ways, we want to recreate the family that has chosen to stay with us. We are currently two long-term/permanent residents here, each with our own space. We are looking for individuals or couples who can become part of the family, not just tenants. We have a studio apartment called the Tranquil Stay at Himalayan Height. A bedroom/living room/dining room with a sizeable kitchen. This is a separate wing of the Himalayan Woodpecker.
Our home is located in the heart of the majestic Himalayan mountains, providing stunning views of the surrounding landscape. The fresh mountain air and peaceful atmosphere will provide the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Our home is a traditional Himalayan stone cottage with comfortable and cozy furnishings. The main living area features a fireplace, perfect for relaxing in front of on a cold winter's night. The cottage also has a fully equipped kitchen, so you can prepare your own meals during your stay. The cottage has two bedrooms, each with a queen-sized bed. The bedrooms are cozy and inviting, and they will provide a restful night's sleep. Additionally, there is a full bathroom with a shower, as well as a laundry room for your convenience. Step outside and take in the beauty of the Himalayan mountains from our large deck. The deck is the perfect spot to enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning, or to watch the sunset in the evening. Our homestay is located just a short drive from several hiking trails, providing ample opportunity for outdoor adventure. Additionally, we are located within easy driving distance of several ski resorts, making our cottage the perfect spot for a winter getaway.
We welcome researchers, scholars, thinkers, readers, bird watchers, writers, and cinematographers to come and stay with us. It is an ideal and sophisticated location for you in this part of the Himalayas. We strictly prohibit late-night alcoholic parties, loud music, and noise of any kind because our homestay is in the midst of nature. If you want to drink responsibly, I might be willing to join you!
You are welcome to explore the house, meet and sit with the family, enjoy nature, climb in the pine forest, and learn about Himachali culture. We respectfully request that you refrain from disturbing the environment by plucking flowers, trees, running through orchards, disturbing our cows, or any other part of the house. Make yourself at home and enjoy your relaxing stay at our homestay.

The steep walk from the parking lot to the house takes twenty minutes. Are you physically fit enough to ascend? Please think twice before bringing infants/children/elderly. Our homestay is both simple and lovely. It may not be luxurious, but we promise all of the necessities while maintaining an organic lifestyle. Please do not compare us to the atmosphere of a hotel or resort. Enjoy this place as if it were your own.
We allow a maximum of three house guests per booking.
In addition to the extraordinary experience, we welcome your pets who can accompany you on your vacations.
The check-in time for the guest would be flexible. The check-out time is 12 p.m. With the people of the house nearby, guests can also self-check in.
